Hmmmmmmm, you have pointed out nice points which we need to take care of if we want to utilize twitter for better results. I am having around 19,000 followers and i am following around 17,800 members on twitter but have not concentrated. What we need to do is utilize the opportunity in a better way and improve our social network and business. We should have a natural act and should not keep going with just marketing.

Twitter can really be a powerful tool in social marketing for your business product or service. However, the real challenge is in accumulating a large amount of targeted followers who actually read their feeds. Many people have tens of thousands of followers, which is not easy to obtain. I generally get a decent amount of hits for my blog through my twitter page, and that’s just through the tiny info blurb. If I actively posted links, I would probably drive a decent amount of traffic.
