It is so important in Google maps to stand out from the crowd. Giving people information about your business is good but think outside the box. Offer people a little more of an incentive to choose you!

Great post thanks, it appears that QR codes are one to look out for. I feel they could be extremely profitable to any organisation as it would provide another dimension to their advertisements. People could use them in standard newspaper advertisements to offer an instant money off voucher etc.

I have had a lot of luck with writing reviews. Not only do they drive a little traffic on their own, they make for some good back links as well. Google is definitely looking at reviews these days as piece of the trust puzzle. Reviews are good for your site and business all around. Great article.

Excellent post and some “right on the money” points. I would add is if you do all the things you suggest, the search engines will find you organically, so I don’t suggest you submit your sites to the search engines. Creating a profile from your gmail account and adding your links to your sites is almost all you have to do to get indexed by Google. Creating a Google profile is a must in our books.

Really interesting read. I was in China quite a while ago and this was already being used as shopping coupons. I only noticed this in 2010 but it could have been widely used before that. Many large-scale stores has QR scanners/readers at their counters and if you received or collected a QR barcode coupon on your phone you were eligible of receiving their discounts. Really cool I thought. Now I’m building a new website for the company I work at, and I’m really looking to integrate this into the website, especially because many new camera phones have pre-installed QR readers. It’s fun, and many people with such technology on their phones might be curious to find out the hidden message behind the barcodes. So why not?

Good post with great tips on writing reviews. We always tell business owners to make a business card that has links to their review sites and give it to a client after a good experience. Ask the client to go review the site, and include a call to action, such as 10% off next visit or similar if a review is posted. Great way to generate positive feedback. Thanks for the post.

Well said. SEO is such a time consuming process and the work is an ongoing project. Quality SEO’s report their results on a monthly basis (at least) and just building useful reports is a project in and of itself. Not only that, but the value a company gets from a good SEO campaign will far outweigh the benefits regardless of the cost. Thanks so much!

Nothing in this world comes free so how can SEO be?? If you look out for free and cheap SEO tactics, you’ll eventually pay the price in one form or the other. So, pay a little price now to get effective results but never compromise and go for unethical means.
