Today Twitter will come up with a much-anticipated business plan for making money through advertising, to end up with answering the question how the company will turn its exceptional escalation into revenue.

The advertising program, will be known as Promoted Tweets, will show up when Twitter users search for keywords that the advertisers have bought to link to their ads. Later, Twitter plans to show promoted posts in the stream of Twitter posts, based on how relevant they might be to a particular user.

According to The New York Times, “The idea behind Promoted Tweets is that we want to enhance the communications that companies are already having with customers on Twitter,” said Dick Costolo, Twitter’s chief operating officer, to the newspaper.

Lot of brands will be a part of the preliminary launch, including Best Buy, Starbucks and Virgin America. Promoted Tweets will allow brands to prevent being buried in the stream: when a Twitter user performs a search for a keyword, the tweet will show at the top of the page and will specify they are sponsored.
